Nurit HirshNurit Hirsh (born 1942) is an Israeli composer, arranger and conductor. She has written more than 1.600 Israeli songs and has twice conducted her own songs at the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1978, Israel won first place in Paris with her song "Abanibi."

This song by the Israeli composer Nurit Hirsh is arranged here in two versions: the first for 5 celli in d minor and the second for 7 celli. The version for 7 celli contains a swing version in g minor which can be played as the third verse. How did the piece come to be arranged by three different friends? While making music in her family circle Tabea improvised a chromatic line to go with the melody. She took this to her cello teacher Volker who gave it a rhythmic structure. Volker brought this result to Dortmund to the Cello Summer and I made a few additions. Peter Reulein: "Stille lass mich finden” (Let me find peace) arranged for 4 cellos by Hauke Hack
A wonderful piece by the composer and church musician Peter Reulein which is seasoned with some jazz harmony and suspensions and is ideal for a cello ensemble. It is a contemplative piece in D major. Just as the Bach’s Badinerie from the B minor orchestral suite is an example of a piece which is not exactly sad, so “Stille lass mich finden” is a pleasant but not jolly piece in a major key.
Markus Pytlik: Moege die Strasse uns zusammenfuehren (German version of An Irish Blessing) arranged for 4 cellos by Hauke Hack
My children brought this church classic home from the kindergarten. I thought it was a traditional piece with its simple melody and touching text but I was wrong. The German text and music were created by the composer and grammar school teacher Markus Pytlik with whom I studied at the same time at the Cologne college of music. In the arrangement there are two different verses in the key of F major.
Lionel Haas: La Joie arranged for 4 cellos by Tabea Schwartz
The title says everything. This piece by the French musician Lionel Haas is really suited for young pupils but older pupils find it fun too. The introduction has a rhythmic structure so that it can be whispered which makes it easier to start the piece. The piece is written in C major.
Traditional: An Irish Blessing arranged for 4 cellos by Hauke Hack
This piece is notable for its melody and the harmony with suspensions and "peppermint chords”. It is written in the key of A major.
