About the composer
David FunckThe Bohemian musician David Funck wrote in the 17th century “Stricturae Viola di Gambicae”. This was a collection of 43 four-part dance movements for viol consort. In the publishing company Hauke Hack you can find all 43 movements in 4 suites. The clefs are changed to convinient clefs for cellists.
About the composition
Eleven movements, some of them very short, in G major complete the previously published editions: the Sonata Suite and 2nd Suite in D major, and the 3rd Suite in G minor. This completes all 43 movements from "Stricturae Viola di Gambicae" for cello quartet. As in the previous editions, there is ample scope for dynamic interpretation. The following movements are included: Intrada - Sonatina - Allemande - Bransle Amener - Courante - Aria - Sarabande - Bransle - Ballet - Sarabande - Volta
