Hauke Hack (*1967) is primarily a cellist, playing in a professional orchestra, organizing and performing in cello ensembles and other chamber music groups, giving courses, conducting a large amateur string orchestra, and occasionally composing music. His compositions and cello ensemble arrangements are created for various celebrations, specific concerts, or dedicated to individual performers. Meander was written for his daughter Anouchka Hack.
He studied composition with Günther Cellarius (Clara Schumann Music School) and Prof. Manfred Reiter (Cologne University of Music).
About the composition
Salbanello is a lively, rhythmically demanding, and partly acrobatic piece with an elegiac middle section, created for the premiere project "frisch gestrichen" (freshly bowed) in 2003.
(Salbanello is also a rather fruity red wine.)
