About the composer

Johann Sebastian Bach

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750)

“Bach is the beginning and end of all music.” (Max Reger)
“Not Bach! (Bach means small river in German.) He should be called Sea: because of his endless, inexhaustible wealth of tonal combinations and harmonies.” (Ludwig van Beethoven)
“Now that's something we can learn from. (About the music of J. S. Bach)”  (W.A. Mozart)

About the composition

Johann Sebastian Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 6, BWV 1051, arranged for six cellos.

This piece (all three movements) was one of the reasons for founding the music publishing house specializing in cello and cello ensemble sheet music, as the arrangement had already been completed. The 1990 version has been thoroughly revised. More information can be found in the preface (in the sample pages). The parts include suggestions for fingerings and bowings.
