Hauke HackThe Publisher
Hauke Hack (*1967) is primarily a cellist, playing in a professional orchestra, organizing and performing in cello ensembles and other chamber music groups, giving courses, conducting a large amateur string orchestra, and occasionally composing music. His compositions and cello ensemble arrangements are created for various celebrations, specific concerts, or dedicated to individual performers. Meander was written for his daughter Anouchka Hack.
He studied composition with Günther Cellarius (Clara Schumann Music School) and Prof. Manfred Reiter (Cologne University of Music).
About the composition
Two independent movements for solo cello. Both share a developmental form and a fundamentally Romantic character.
While Meander II features natural harmonics and pentatonic allusions, Meander is characterized by major seventh chords and minor seventh chords. The performance instruction "free narration" invites individual interpretation.
These pieces are primarily intended for professional cellists and are dedicated to Anouchka Hack.
