Hauke ​​Hack (*1967) is primarily a cellist, playing in a professional orchestra, organizing and performing in cello ensembles and other chamber music groups, giving courses, conducting a large amateur string orchestra, and occasionally composing music. His compositions and cello ensemble arrangements are created for various celebrations, specific concerts, or dedicated to individual performers. Meander was written for his daughter Anouchka Hack.
He studied composition with Günther Cellarius (Clara Schumann Music School) and Prof. Manfred Reiter (Cologne University of Music). 

About the composition

Salbanello is a virtuosic piece for accomplished cellists. A middle voice has been added to the version for four cellos, making the rhythmic structure of the entire piece even more compact than in the original version.

Salbanello for five cellos was written for the premiere project "frisch verfugt" in 2005.
