Georg GoltermannGeorg Goltermann was a German cellist and Composer in 19th century. His pieces for 4 cellos have beautiful melodies in the 1st cello part. To get all parts more equal interesting they are freshly mixed in the editions of Musikverlag Hauke Hack.
About the composition
The idea of arranging the cello quartets of Georg Goltermann for four equal parts was born after playing the originals with professional cellists. To get a rather interesting part in the original without queue jumping, cunning cellists directly choose the second part. So they avoid the boring 3rd or 4th part.
With the new arrangement it is fun for all four cellists forcing them to listen, how the melody switches between the parts and who is playing the melody and who is playing the accompaniment.
